The pyro musical spectacles join both fireworks to music and take place on the pier at Pontinha (Funchal Harbour) at 10.30pm on all four Saturdays of the month – on the 8th, the 15th, the 22nd and the 29th. Opening and closing acts are under the responsibility of philharmonic bands.
The Madeira Music Festival, under the responsibility of DRAC, took place between the 7th and 16th and embraced a high quality performances by different artists from Portugal and abroad, and was comprised of various genres, styles and repertoires in order to appeal to all types of audiences.
The Regional Arts Week, organised by the Coordination Office of Arts Education | SRE, took place at the same time as the Madeira Music Festival, aiming to promote several cultural activities in the central squares of Avenida Arriaga and at the Auditorium of the Municipal Gardens.
